It’s been a year since Jessica Simpson became an aunt to Ashlee’s son, Bronx.

“Happy Birthday to my precious angel on earth!!! Bronx is 1 today!! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!!” Jessica wrote on Twitter Friday.

“I can’t believe it has been a year already,” she continued.

Her little sister Ashlee wrote her own message on Twitter Thursday.

“BX’s 1st bday tomorrow! My angel is going to be a year!! The greatest year of my life ” she posted.

Her husband, Pete Wentz, added, “happy birthday bx. you dont have twitter and cant read this. thanks to all my friends that recorded lullabies. cant believe its been a year.”

Jessica Simpson: master chef?

Late Wednesday, the singer Tweeted, “Watching Julie&Julia at my house. Meryl Streep is genius!!” Simpson was obviously inspired by the film noted, about the late celebrity chef Julia Child (Streep). That same day, she hit a Beverly Hills Williams Sonoma for some kitchen tools of her own.

The real surprise of the day wasn’t her newfound hobby but her shopping ensemble: no makeup, pink shorts . . . and, referencing her ex-boyfriend Tony Romo, a Dallas Cowboys hooded sweatshirt. Romo, a quarterback for the Cowboys, dumped Simpson the day before her 29th birthday this past July.

Jessica Simpson puts family first.

After her sister Ashlee Simpson-Wentz was fired from “Melrose Place” – which Jessica had aggressively promoted via Twitter since posting a “Hooray for Melrose” tweet on October 20th – the 29-year-old singer is now using the microblogging service to bash her little sis’s former show.

“CW catching up on MP.who writes this crap?i have had bad scripts to work with,but this?thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press,” Jessica wrote.

According to the latest edition of Us Weekly, “Melrose Place” producers fired Ashlee because they “thought she couldn’t act.”

One anonymous source even said, “She’s the worst actress, but nobody will tell her.”

Another rumor has it that she was canned at the request of returning “Melrose” queen b—t Heather Locklear, who is set to appear on the new version of the show on November 17.

For her part, Ashlee was much more cordial in her parting shots. “Having the chance to play Violet on ‘Melrose Place’ has been a thrill,” she wrote. “Thanks to the CW and the entire cast and crew of ‘Melrose Place’ for allowing me this opportunity.”
