Jessica Simpson could be gaining back some of the 60-plus pounds she lost after giving birth to daughter Maxwell Drew in May.
Us Weekly reports that the singer and “Fashion Star” mentor is pregnant again.
The magazine quoted a source saying, “It definitely wasn’t planned. But yes, Jessica is pregnant again.”
Simpson’s spokeswoman declined to comment on the report to ABCNews.com.
The baby would be the second for Simpson, 32, and her fiance, pro football player Eric Johnson, 33.
The pop star recently shed more than 60 pounds she gained while pregnant with her daughter through a Weight Watchers-controlled diet and four-times-a-week workout sessions with her trainer.
“In over 20 years, I’ve never seen as consistent of a weight loss,” her trainer Harley Pasternak told Us last month. “Jessica’s right where she needs to be.”
Simpson’s Weight Watchers leader Liz Josefsberg told the magazine, “She’s very brave to do this in a healthy, more realistic way.”
On the premiere of Katie Couric‘s talk show in September, Simpson admitted that there was a “lot of pressure” on her to lose weight.
She had a lot of incentive, though. Earlier this year, Simpson signed a reported $3 million contract to be the celebrity face of Weight Watchers.
If she is indeed pregnant, it’s unclear how this might this affect her contract with the weight-loss program.
“Any questions related to Jessica’s personal life can only be answered by her team,” company spokeswoman Stephanie Shulman told ABCNews.com. “We do not disclose financial details about any of our relationships with our ambassadors.”
Although buzz about which celebrities could join Simon Cowell’s new show The X Factor is already going strong, a new name has been added to the mix. Jessica Simpson is a frontrunner to become one of the judges alongside Cowell, a show insider tells PEOPLE.
“There [are] loads of conversations happening at the moment,” says the source. “No one has been offered a judging role yet as new names keep coming forward who want the role, but there are some frontrunners and it’s fair to say Jessica is one of them. She’s very keen.”
Simpson, 30, has the skills needed for this particular format, which features a $5 million recording contract as the grand prize, says the insider. Still, there are a lot of factors that go in to making the final choice.
“She knows what she is talking about [and] is talented and likable,” the source says. “But Simon’s not in a rush to decide. The judges have to mentor on The X Factor – it’s more than just turning up for a few hours a week to appear on TV.”
The judges will have to “work with contestants on music, dancers, styling,” the source continues. “It’s a lot of work.”
The X Factor, which is already a hit in Cowell’s native U.K., will debut in the U.S. on FOX in the fall, so producers have time to make a careful choice.
“They have to get the decision right, which takes time,” the source says. “Those final decisions may not happen for a few weeks.”
With her southern charm and girl-next-door appeal, it’s hard to believe that Jessica Simpson is in fact a fashion powerhouse, sitting at the helm of a nearly $1 billion empire. But with retail sales of her successful lifestyle brand totaling $750 million this year, that is precisely what her line of shoes, accessories, denim, swimwear, watches and fragrances have turned the newly-engaged star into, reports WWD. And her secret, according to Vince Camuto, founder and CEO of Camuto Group, the main licensee for Simpson-branded merchandise, is her approachability. “People like her,” he tells WWD. “People look at her as a style icon.” So much so that Jess is broadening her brand even further, launching a contemporary sportswear line of stylish separates including jackets, woven and knit bottoms, as well as tops and dresses, all priced from $39 to $129. “This new sportswear line reflects my evolving style, which combines comfort, femininity and flirty fun,” Jessica said in a statement. The new collection will be available at more than 650 specialty and department stores throughout the U.S. and Canada starting in the fall of 2011.
Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson celebrated their engagement with friends and family Thursday night at her parents house, In Touch Weekly reports. The couple announced their engagement over the weekend after about five months of dating.
The magazine’s press release follows:
Less than a week after In Touch exclusively confirmed her engagement, Jessica Simpson celebrated her upcoming nuptials with friends, family and, of course, her fiance, Eric Johnson, at her parents’ Encino, Calif., estate on November 18. The bride-to-be’s mother, Tina, threw a casual party with pizza and finger foods from La Loggia Italian Bistro and roses from Mark’s Garden for 50 guests, including Jessica’s sister, Ashlee, her brother-in-law, Pete Wentz, and her best friend, CaCee Cobb.
“Jessica and Eric looked so happy,” an insider tells In Touch. Not all was smooth sailing, however — the singer, who along with her former football player beau arrived two hours late for the soiree, seemed anxious for guests’ approval of her unique ruby engagement ring. “At one point, she asked one of the servers what she thought of the ring. When the server said it was beautiful, Jessica snapped, ‘You don’t mean that!'” the insider says. But all in all, the blond beauty enjoyed her celebration. “Jessica is in love,” the insider adds, “and kept talking about her wedding plans and new life with Eric.”
